TURNING CARBON DIOXIDE INTO SUSTAINABLE FUEL
Cemvita Factory collaborates with United and Oxy Low Carbon Ventures to create new fuel sources.

Microbes are tiny, living organisms that, just like us, need to eat. What Cemvita does is engineer ways to feed them CO2 (something we want less of out in the atmosphere) and have them create, or secrete out, valuable chemicals or hydrocarbons.
United has already invested in more SAF producers than the rest of the world’s airlines. We continue to dedicate our resources to fund emerging technology to unlock access to new, untapped sources for *even more* SAF.

sustainable aviation fuel
The goal of Cemvita Factory and United Airlines Ventures collaboration is to commercialize the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) intended to be developed through a revolutionary new process using carbon dioxide (CO2) and synthetic microbes.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT?
We specialize in industrial-strength synthetic biology applied to decarbonization.
Carbon-Negative:
We focus on carbon-negative pathways that use CO2 or Methane as a feedstock.
Non-model Microbes
We have a special focus on growing, optimizing, and utilizing a portfolio of non-model microorganisms including extremophiles with industrial applications.
Scale-up
We help our clients scale up bioprocesses from lab to 1000X scale.
sustainable aviation fuel
transforming carbon dioxide into a suite of products.
More specifically, Cemvita intends to use synthetic biology
to turn carbon dioxide into chemicals and alternative fuels,
including SAF. Cemvita is among the first to employ this
technology to support heavy industry decarbonization and,
find ways to use synthetic biology to turn
carbon dioxide into fuel.
